Gangstar Mirage City launches today across selected markets in Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, South Asia and Southeast Asia. The Level Infinite and Gameloft project brings the Gangstar formula back as a large multiplayer-focused urban sandbox built around crews, cars, heists and faction activity.
Players can explore Mirage City, upgrade vehicles, complete jobs and work with others on larger criminal operations rather than progressing entirely through a conventional single-player campaign. Today's regional release follows an extensive pre-registration campaign involving community factions and milestone rewards, with unlocked bonuses being delivered through in-game mail after launch.
Mirage City is technically ambitious for mobile because open-world traffic, driving, combat and multiple connected players all need to operate simultaneously on devices with widely varying performance. Regional deployment therefore gives the developers an opportunity to monitor server stability, progression and monetisation before any broader worldwide rollout. Large contemporary crime sandboxes remain surprisingly uncommon on phones compared with consoles and PC.
Mirage City could occupy a significant niche if Gameloft and Level Infinite can make the city feel genuinely persistent without overwhelming mid-range hardware.
