Pokémon GO Enters Final Fall Marathon Weekend as Dynamax Rookidee Battles Approach Their Deadline

Pokémon GO players have reached the final weekend of the Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek event, making October 18 an important day for anyone hoping to finish outstanding research tasks or collect additional event rewards. The event began on October 13 and continues until October 19 at 8pm local time. Its main attraction is the debut of Bramblin, the Tumbleweed Pokémon, alongside additional activities involving Buddy Pokémon, special encounters and walking-related challenges.

Players can also encounter Mega Manectric with its enhanced Discharge+ attack, while the event increases opportunities to find Shiny Electrike. Since October 16, Incense encounters have included an increased chance of encountering Shiny Hisuian Growlithe. A free Timed Research challenge rewards players for exploring distances of up to 42 kilometres, with a special Pikachu wearing a marathon visor among the potential rewards. Meanwhile, the current Dynamax Rookidee rotation reaches its final day on October 18.

Players interested in adding the Pokémon to their Max Battle collections should therefore complete any remaining encounters before the rotation changes. Dynamax Sneasel is scheduled to take over on October 19. Five-star raids currently feature Dialga, while Mega Dragonite remains available in Mega Raids. Both are scheduled to remain in their respective rotations until October 20. Shadow Incarnate Forme Landorus is also available through the October weekend Shadow Raid schedule.

These are continuing scheduled activities rather than newly announced events, but several deadlines make them particularly relevant today. Pokémon GO continues to demonstrate that collecting virtual creatures can involve a surprisingly complicated calendar. Between raids, research deadlines and walking challenges, managing a Pokémon collection occasionally resembles organising a small international logistics operation.
